Telework Ordering Templates

To better support the university in teleworking, NI&S is waiving one-time fees associated with services designed to improve the experience for employees working remotely. These services can be ordered by logging in to ServiceNow and submitting a request using one of the provided templates below, replacing the [Bracketed Placeholders] with your information.

Call Forwarding

Please configure my office phone [5-digit telephone number] to forward calls to [10-digit telephone number] effective [Effective date or Immediately].

Mobility (EC500)

Please configure my office phone [5-digit telephone number] to use the mobility service.  My cell phone number is [10-digit cell phone number] and my cellular service provider is [AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular].  I have multiple line appearances on my desk phone that I will need to answer [Yes / No]. Please make this change effective [Date or Immediately].

Voicemail Notification

Please configure my voicemail account to notify me by sending an email to [Virginia Tech Email address] and/or by sending a text-message to my cell phone number is [10-digit cell phone number] and my cellular service provider is [AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular]. when I receive new messages.  Please make this change effective [Date or Immediately].

Unified Communications

UC service requests need to be submitted by the end user to satisfy requirements for associating the E911 acknowledgment statement to the user.

Please configure my office phone [5-digit telephone number] to allow me to support the unified communications service.  I have multiple line appearances on my desk phone that I will need to answer [Yes / No].                 

By submitting this request I acknowledge that I have been made aware and understand the technical limitations associated with the UC mobile telephone set and softphone I am using. I have been informed not to depend on the service for calling 911 or soliciting any emergency response. I have been informed that Virginia Tech is not liable for any errors or delays in emergency response associated with the use of the UC Mobility service.
